Adam's 28

Adam begun his day with a 5:45 am conference call with the Atlanta office, but it got much better after that! We celebrated with dinner at a place called Leons and it was the best dinner we have had out in Tulsa as of yet.

After dinner we had the Pecan Cheesecake, which turned out to be very yummy.

Adam put his birthday funds to immediate use...... I have a feeling this is going to be his permant position anytime he isn't on the jobsite. Thank All for your contributions to this wonderful gift.
After he had to call Melissa for tech help within 4 hours of bringing it home, I got him "MacBook for Dummies." Hopefully he'll get it down.

YAYA now Adam can't call me a couger again until August!

A Sunny Sunday in Tulsa

Sunday was a beautifully sunny day so Adam and I put on many layers and headed out. Adam was very excited to have an opportunity to play with his new fancy-dancy camera.

One of the surprising things we have discovered is that Tulsa is full of parks. They have all sorts of neighborhood parks with playgrounds and fitness focused parks. When its not brutally cold, we are going to try to explore them more fully.

Our first stop was the Historical Society House & Garden House. Both are huge houses and there is a multi-acre rose garden. I cannot wait until spring when the roses start to bloom. These houses were built by Russian immigrant brothers in the 1920s.

We then drove down to the river. There is a 10+ mile walking trail that starts down in Jenks (near Adam's job site) and follows the river all the way to downtown. The wind was brutal and it was cold but that didn't seem to bother any of the Tulsa natives. One of the neatest things about this trail is that they have free bikes that you can rent. You simply have to secure it with a credit card and return it within 48 hours to not be charged. All the bikes were rented on Sunday but hopefully next time, we can get on them!

Tomorrow the weather channel is forecasting doom & gloom for Tulsa. We are expecting about 1 inch of ice then up to 1 foot of snow on top of it. We have also been told to expect power outages of 1 to 5 days. AHHH! I stocked us up on some food yesterday. Today I'm going to purchase some candles & an extra flashlight. Adam might be happy that I talked him into bring the extra blankets!

Our Tulsa Home

We are finally getting settled into our apartment here in Tulsa. While our rented furniture is not in our style, it is comfy. Here is a little virtual tour of our apartment.

We chose an apartment with a sun room over having a porch and it has become my office. Besides being an make-shift office, the sun room is also our fishing rod storage area. Do you think we brought enough with us?

Being on the third fun made our move in much more challenging. Our legs were screaming by the time we got done.

The tiny door beside the bed is where out hot water heater is stored. It keeps us company all night by banging away. The heat is run by hot water so our choice is to have a cold apartment or hear the banging of the pipes of the heater. I think we are about ready to choose the cold apartment.
